Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. is establishing Al-Khayrat Steam Power Plant with 1.400 MW thermal capacity in Al-Hindiya District of Karbala Governorate, to the south of Baghdad, in Iraq.

In the scope of the Al-Khayrat Steam Power Plant project, AIRS was conducted an air quality assessment study as an attachment of the Preliminary Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (PESIA) Report to evaluate operational emissions of the Project in the scope of both Republic of Iraq, Kurdistan Regional Government’s legislation and IFC EHS Guidelines, and quantify and assess air quality impacts due to operational activities of the Project in the scope of formerly mentioned legislation and guidelines.
